How much effort

Very often we hear about young professionals who graduate from famous universities, but after a few years of work they leave their jobs. The reasons they give are usually stress, long work hours, workload, bad bosses and environments, so on and so forth.

Can we say that life nowadays is really so different from the past? Were our predecessors more tolerant of working under a boss or in a demanding environment, or is our generation more spoiled, give up easier, or is less willing to fight for objectives?

One point in favor of current generations, is, without any doubt, the constant connection, 24/7, anywhere with anyone and anything, including work.

Everything is at your fingertips!

Do you need groceries? Buy online, they’ll deliver to your home anytime you want.

It all looks very nice but pros come with cons too.

Your customer in the USA wants to buy something urgently from you on Friday morning Los Angeles time, and he must receive it in 5 days. The clock on your desk in Asia indicates Saturday Morning, of course it does not count as overtime.

Midnight in Asia, we get call from Europe “Do we disturb you?” Well, this is work in a globalized world, so what can we say?!

I think it is really this accessibility of everything - info, relationships, goods - that often makes today’s generations more frustrated on one side because someone should work to make that possible, while on the other hand, young professionals got used to have easy access to many things becoming less willing to run the extra mile in some other situations and therefore, leave their path for an easier looking one.
