Lasting relationships

Looking at my parents, I wonder how relationships were without social media. I mean, it is easy to fall in the trap seeking for attention from other people on social media after a fight or misunderstanding with someone you really care about.
One click, there you go, the news feed of Facebook, Instagram or whichever new social media at the time. One like, one “Hi, how are you?” and immediately you can get the attention you were looking for from a person that you used to know, barely know, or a complete stranger.
Immediately that attention feels you heart, makes you wanting something else than what you have in that moment, makes you think you could give up everything for a bare attention which does not represent reality, instead of staying and fighting for what you built till that moment and just clarify an unsolved matter.
We could say that all of this was easier in the past. Or we could just think carefully about what we really value.
